Search continues for missing Nampa woman

ISLAND PARK, ID. Heather D. Davidson, 29, has been missing from her Nampa, Idaho home since Saturday, February 20. Her brother, Chris Burrup, has organized a search for his sister and created a Facebook page, HelpFindHeather, to publicize that she is missing.

Davidson’s mother is the niece of Pat Ridley, a Mack’s Inn resident. Pat’s wife, Kay, is working to raise local awareness of Heather’s situation.

Burrup said at around 4 a. m. on Feb. 20, Heather left her husband, Bill “Fish” Davidson and their four children, ages two to 10, and drove to Boise.

He said not long after that, there was an accident at Park and Broadway in Boise, and a witness saw a person fitting her description running from the scene.

Burrup said he does not know why Heather left home. She is a stay-at-home mom who home-schools the children, he said, and so would not have been gong to work.

Burrup said the Boise police have impounded the vehicle and its contents, have not released an accident report to the family, and a person with the department has said there is a ”hit and run” issue.

In a phone interview Sunday, Feb., 28, Commander Stuart Kelsey of the Boise Police Department would not confirm or deny that a hit and run is involved. He said the incident is under investigation, and so the accident report is not public. He would not say if Heather is  considered to have been involved in any criminal activity.

“Obviously we are very interested in speaking with Heather and hope she contacts us,” said Kelsey. He did not say what steps the department is taking, if any, to look for the woman.

Both Burrup and Kay Ridley said they and all the members of Heather’s large family are very concerned . Ridley characterized Davidson as the kind of person that would face her problems, not avoid them or run from them. She said they had a pleasant visit with Heather at a family reunion in Mack’s Inn last summer.

Both Burrup and Ridley said the family is very close and it is totally out of character for Heather to stay away from the children and not keep in touch with family members.

The family has distributed posters with Davidson’s photo all over Idaho, in Utah, and in Oregon from Albany to Portland. Burrup said he thinks Davidson’s husband is in Portland now looking for his wife. He said he is not sure why people think she may be in Oregon, but said he does feel that she is not in Boise or Nampa.

Burrup said he has also called area hospitals, and the morgue,  “and that was a very hard thing to do.”

Heather was born on April 7, 1980. She has brown hair and hazel eyes, is 5 ft. 8 and weighs 145 pounds. She may have been wearing a long black coat, red shirt, and jeans when she went missing. She has tatoos on her left finger and abdomen. She may be using the name, Ashley Burrup. If you’ve seen her, please call the Boise police, 208.377.6790, or send an e-mail to helpfindheather@gmail.com.
